The Firm proudly welcomes Stephen J. Resnick as
'Of Counsel' to our team.
He joins the law firm after his tenure as a former New Jersey Deputy
Attorney General from 1979 to 2004. Steve brings a new
dimension to our practice to include legal representation in the
areas of General Litigation, Government Regulation and Criminal Law.
He represents clients on sensitive government regulatory matters
involving the Solid Waste Industry, Casino Licensing and
Broker/Dealer Securities Licensing. In addition, Steve has extensive experience as an investigative trial attorney and represents
corporations and individuals before the federal and state government
involving all areas of criminal law.
Throughout his lengthy career at the New Jersey Office of the
Attorney General, his responsibilities included key leadership roles
in the New Jersey Division of Law from 1992 to 2004 as the Assistant
Section Chief, Judiciary & Prosecutors Section and also the
Assistant Section Chief, Consumer Affairs Section. At the
Judiciary & Prosecutors Section, Steve was responsible for the legal
defense for the New Jersey Judiciary and county prosecutors. While at the
Consumer Affairs Section, he represented the New Jersey Bureau of
Securities with respect to all litigation matters. In
addition, Steve maintained a full investigative and trial
caseload relating to organized crime activity in the New Jersey
solid waste industry.
During his tenure at the New Jersey Division of Criminal
Justice from 1979 to 1992, Steve served as the Assistant Director,
Statewide Narcotics Task Force; Section Chief, Antitrust Section;
Section Chief, Medicare Fraud Section and Unit Chief, Environmental
Prosecutions Section. During his tenure at the New Jersey
Division of Criminal Justice, he was responsible for complex civil and
criminal investigations and litigation relating to
Controlled Dangerous Substances, Money Laundering and Racketeering.
He also served as legal advisor to the New Jersey
Narcotics Officer's Association. In addition, Steve supervised
investigations and trials of cases in the Solid Waste industry,
Medicaid Fraud, Environmental and Casino Licensing and Special
Prosecutions.
Steve is known for his aggressive representation on
behalf of the State of New Jersey. He is known for his successful
litigation in cases such as Farmer v. Robert Brennan, et al.,
a RICO/Securities Fraud case which settled on the eve of trial for a
judgment of one hundred million dollars ($100,000,000).
Prior to the Attorney General's Office, he prosecuted cases as an
Assistant Prosecutor in Mercer County, NJ from 1976-1979 and
an Assistant District Attorney in Brooklyn, NY from 1973-1976.
Steve graduated from Brooklyn Law School and is admitted to
practice in New Jersey; New York; U.S. District Court, Eastern
District of New York; U.S. District Court, Southern District of New
York; U.S. Court of Appeals, Second Circuit; U.S. District Court,
New Jersey and is a member of the New York and New Jersey Bar
Associations.
